King Consulting Engineering is a fully licensed Consulting Firm headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana specializing in Engineering and Design, Project Management, and Construction Administration. Firmly grounded in the Electrical Discipline, King Consulting Engineering also provides complete multidisciplinary engineering services via partnerships with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Geotechnical Engineers when a project calls for a wider team.

LEADERSHIP

Founder and Principal Engineer, Kerwyn King, P.E. has served the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas for over 15 years providing engineering and consulting services on projects with stakeholders such as federal and government agencies, utilities and infrastructure, municipal, industrial, commercial, and architectural needs for developers and building owners alike.

Mr. King is a long time New Orleans resident, passionate about his community, his city, his state, and his region. His personal connection and enduring love for New Orleans continues to motivate him to call the great city home and make it the place where he’s chosen to grow his family and his business; it will forever be his home. He has a deep dedication and vested interest in developing New Orleans for future generations.

Mr. King, born of Caribbean parents, moved to Southern Louisiana at a very young age. His Father, a welder at numerous plants and refineries along the river, and Mother, a creative designer of fashion and interiors, instilled in him an unwavering work ethic and a sense of pride in community. Kerwyn spent most of his childhood years in the River Parishes and spent a few years on the East Coast. It was these experiences as a young man that fostered the development of a worldly view and grandiose visions for New Orleans. His passion for leadership and service led him to serve in the United States Army, after high school, as a UH60 Blackhawk Maintainer and Crewchief. Mr. King then went on to graduate from The University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005.

As a young engineer, Mr. King found a home at a local consulting firm, where he played a major part in the reconstruction and renovation of Southern Louisiana, after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. His role as electrical engineer on teams that evaluated and assessed facilities and systems, across several parishes, for damage and effects attributed to these devastating storms, allowed for invaluable engineering and design exposure and insight into its function in revitalizing a region. His responsibilities included providing project scoping and estimation, performing engineering for the repair, replacement, and/or hazard mitigation designs for these facilities and systems, and supplying construction administration services. These opportunities allowed Mr. King to gain prodigious knowledge and experience across a wide range of projects.
